Classes are kept simple and accessible, there is no need for any previous yoga experience, in fact the vast majority of people coming to classes have never practiced yoga before! Week by week I get to know my students so that I can tailor the class to suit individual needs as much as possible. Class content is varied each week, but using simple content that can be practised at home.

We will use a combination of breathing techniques, gentle yoga poses and guided relaxations, all of which can easily be recreated at home. We will also be using some of the relaxation techniques from my hypnobirthing classes as part of the yoga class.

Yoga is great to practice during pregnancy, it can help to ease any aches and pains brought on by posture changes, it can help to prepare your body physically and mentally for birth and it is a great way to socialise and meet other parents.

All classes are taught from my dedicated studio which is situated about halfway between Banbury and Brackley, with a warm and cosy atmosphere, everyone is welcome. Since opening, I have taught pregnancy yoga to people from Brackley, Banbury, Bicester and the surrounding areas!

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I start pregnancy yoga?

If you have never done yoga before you are welcome to start pregnancy yoga after your 12 week scan. If you are an experienced yogi please speak to me before booking.

Does it matter if I haven't done yoga before?

No! In fact I would say 90% of the women in my classes have not done any form of yoga before. The movements that we practice are simple and accessible and follow a similar pattern each week so you will soon feel familiar with the movements.

Can I book one class at a time or come and try it out first?

One of the elements of my classes that makes them so popular is that you get to know the other people in the class as the weeks go by, in fact, it is one of the main things that people tell me they have come for. If people dip in and out it is much harder for this to happen. So I don't offer 'drop-in' passes other than to people who have been coming to classes for the previous term(s) and are expecting the arrival of their baby part way through the term, but these places are subject to availability.

I am experiencing pelvic girdle pain/wrist pain/back ache/low or high blood pressure/reflux/morning sickness etc

Pregnancy yoga is a very safe practice and in many cases can alleviate many pregnancy related conditions, but I would recommend mentioning these when booking, or discussing with me prior to booking if you have any concerns.

I missed the start of term, can I still book in?

Classes do book up quite quickly as I cap each class at a maximum of 10, but you can still book in for the remaining number of weeks of the term if there is space available.

I release the dates for the next term about half way through the current one. Existing clients are given priority access to keep their place and then I notify my subscribers list so if the class you want to join is full the best thing to do is get your name on my email list by adding it here.

I've checked the term dates and there is a session that I cannot make it to, can I book without that date?

No, I'm afraid not, but what I can offer is the possibility of a 'make-up' session in the other class. This is not guaranteed because I can only offer this if the class is not fully booked or if I know somebody is not going to make it and sometimes I only find this out at the last minute, but I will always do my best to accommodate you if I can. If I cannot accommodate you I cannot refund you for any classes you cannot make.

My due date is before the end of term, can I come for a few sessions?

If you have been to classes before and your due date rolls into the next term I will try to accommodate you on a weekly or half -a-term basis, but I cannot guarantee you a spot. This is only available to clients who have previously been to classes.

Polly and Olivia

Hi Amy, just wanted to let you know that Olivia was born on Friday evening at the Horton weighing 8lb 11.5oz. She arrived pretty quickly after 2.5 hours of contractions and I was able to deliver on just gas and air and in the pool. I honestly believe without doing your yoga classes and practising the breathing techniques, things would have turned out very differently (with Jackson's delivery I had every kind of pain relief!). So just wanted to say a big thank you! She's just perfect and I can't believe she is finally here! xx

My labour was controlled and very quick and it was down to the simple practice of breathing! Amy taught me some invaluable breathing techniques and positions that I even practiced during the last stages of labour! The reason her classes work are because they suit all pregnant ladies; if you need to learn how to move more, or if you need to learn how to slow down then you'll find Amy's class a peaceful place to zone out and meet like minded people, offering an inbuilt support network at a time you need it most. Thank you Amy!

Pregnancy Yoga with Amy was a great opportunity to have protected time to bond with bump, and work on breathing and gentle muscle strengthening ready for labour. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and opportunity to meet other local mummies. I would thoroughly recommend Amy's classes to anyone!

I began attending Amy's classes as soon as I possibly could, at 14 weeks pregnant. For me, it was very much about taking the time out of my busy life of working and being a mum to my toddler to really focus on my pregnancy. It often felt like that hour each week was the only time I gave dedicated thought to the little baby growing inside me.

As a relative newbie to yoga, Amy guided me through the different poses, offering gentle advice to get the most out of each session. She taught different breathing techniques as well as pointing out good positions for labour towards the latter end of my pregnancy. The savasana (relaxation) at the end of each session was also a perfect opportunity to shut out the world and deeply relax, something that feels rare these days.

Amy is a super teacher and I really valued not only the physical aspects of the classes but also the discussions that came from her extensive reading on pregnancy, labour and birth.

I would thoroughly recommend Amy's pregnancy yoga classes to anyone and am now hoping she will start doing post-natal classes too!

I didn't think I was a yoga person but after attending Amy's classes I have fallen in love with yoga! Amy makes such an effort to ensure all mums to be are welcomed and is able to tailor all poses to individual needs and ability. I would always leave class feeling positive and relaxed. As well as the physical benefits I very much benefited from positive mental well being. It made me feel confident and excited to welcome my baby into the world and was brilliant to have dedicated time to focus on myself and my baby. Amy goes above and beyond, she doesn't just teach yoga, she provides opportunities for weekend classes, a platform for mums to communicate with each other and social get togethers. I would highly recommend Amy's classes to all mums to be!
